How to Get to Rozelle Sydney Markets From Your Suburb
Rozelle has a reputation for being one of the best vintage markets Sydney has to offer. Getting a park near these beloved Sydney markets can be challenging on weekends, when the markets are held, which is why we recommend visitors take public transport. Here are some instructions on getting to the markets from each side of Sydney via train or bus.
Getting to Rozelle from Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs
If you live in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, getting to Rozelle via public transport is a breeze. First, take a bus or a train to Town Hall Station in the city. From there, head to Stand K at Town Hall Station on Park Street to catch bus 504 (City Domain to Chiswick). Then, it’s a 10-minute bus trip to Rozelle, where you’ll need to get off at Victoria Road before Darling Street. The final leg of your journey is a 155-metre walk straight to Rozelle Public School where the markets are held. This entire trip takes just over half an hour and will cost you about $3.80 in Opal card fees.
Getting to Rozelle from Sydney’s Western Suburbs
The fastest way to get to Rozelle from Sydney’s western suburbs is as follows. Take a train to Petersham station, and walk to the Petersham station bus stop on Trafalgar Street. Then, take bus route 445 (Campsie to Balmain East Wharf). After about half an hour, this bus will drop you directly in front of Rozelle Public School, where the markets take place, so this route is perfect for visitors who don’t want to walk very far. This entire trip takes about 40 minutes and will cost roughly $3.80 in Opal card fees.
Getting to Rozelle from Sydney’s Northern Suburbs
Catching public transport to Rozelle from Sydney’s northern suburbs is similar to doing so from the eastern suburbs in that the easiest way to get there is to take a bus from Town Hall Station. From the northern suburbs, you may need to catch two different bus lines to Town Hall Station in the city depending on where you live. From there, go to Stand K on Park Street to wait for a bus to Rozelle. Take either the M50, M52, 504 or 518 bus and get off at Victoria Road before Darling Street (approximately a 10-minute bus trip). The entire trip from the northern suburbs will take about 45 minutes and cost between $3.50 and $5.50 on your Opal card, depending on where you live.
Getting to Rozelle from Sydney’s Southern Suburbs
Again, the fastest way to get to Rozelle Sydney markets from the southern suburbs is to firstly take a train to Town Hall Station in the city. Once there, walk to Stand K on Park Street to take a bus to Rozelle. Either the M50, M52, 504 or 518 bus will stop at Victoria Road before Darling Street. Get off there and walk 155 metres to Rozelle Public School where you’ll find the Rozelle markets! Depending on how far South you live, this journey may take up to an hour and cost up to $5 in public transport fees. However we promise your trip will be worth it once you see all of the vintage, antique, international food and Sydney produce market stalls on offer at Rozelle.
